The appearance of "Halo" of breast cancer was examined with new polymer transducers. In the case of using 10 MHz transducer, "Halo" was observed in 3 of 4 cases with breast cancer whose diameter were within 1 cm. The reason for this phenomenon is considered that the shorter the wavelength, the more of scattering around the surface of the breast cancer.
Therefore, 10 MHz transducer will be useful for differential diagnosis of the breast tumor less than 1 cm in diameter.
