Two-dimensional ultrasound images of peripheral arteries were recorded before and after CAG with Sones' technique by a new instrument of high resolution two-dimensional echocardiography with a pulsed Doppler system. Information about the size, location of brachial artery and changes of arterial walls were obtained with this system. Thrombosis of brachial artery after CAG in one case and dissection of innominate artery in the other case were detected and demonstrated noninvasively by this system.
This system was considered to be useful to evaluate peripheral artery before and after CAG.
