A case of right renal pelvic transitional cell carcinoma with lung metastasis diagnosed by selective renal biopsy using ultrasonically guided puncture was described in this report.
From findings on DIP (Drip Infusion Pyelography), RP (Retrograde Pyelography), CT scan, renal angiography and urine cytology, it was difficult to differentiate renal pelvic tumor from renal cell carcinoma.
In order to perform an adequate therapy, selective renal biopsy using ultrasonically guided puncture was done , revealing right renal transitional cell carcinoma.
There is a possibility that selective renal biopsy of renal solid mass will be indicated in a limited number of the cases in the future.
