The clinical manifestations and echocardiographic characteristics were studied in the elderly patients with hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM). Nineteen patients with HCM were divided into 2 groups: 11 patients of the elderly group, 4 males and 7 females, mean age 70 (range 55-78) years old and 8 patients of the younger group, 6 males and 2 females, mean age 40 (range 22-49) years old.
