Transabdominal suprapubic electronic linear scanning was done for monitoring during transurethral resection of the prostate (TUR-P) operation. Not only the topographical relationship between the prostate and the resectoscope but also the resected area of the proximal portion of the prostatic adenoma could be revealed by ultrasound. In addition, this method did not interrupt the operative procedure. The ultrasonic observation during TUR-P operation is a useful method for the beginners in order to operate safely.
