A 54 year old male with cholecystolithiasis was admitted to our hospital due to fever. Ultrasonogram showed a large tumor with heterogeneous echogenicity in the right epigastrium.
CT showed an abnormal low density area in the liver, which was well demarcated and unenhanced by contrast medium.
Angiogram showed a relatively hypovascular mass with slight hypervascularity in the right hepatic arterial branches.
Autopsy revealed a large retroperitoneal neurogenic sarcoma.
Ultrasonography was effective in estimating tumor growth and monitoring response to chemotherapy.
