キーワード : Renal infarction
Most of renal infarctions are asymptomatic but occasionally symptomatic and appear acute abdomen. Correct diagnosis should be done as soon as possible. CT, renal scintigram, or angiography would give strong evidences of the disease but ultrasonography would be done foremost because of its simplicity and handiness. Our three cases of fresh renal infarction appeared normal and no informations were gained ultrasonographically at the onset. But all of them turned hyperechoic and their parenchyma thinned afterward, and our other three cases of old renal infarction had the same signs on ultrasonography. We conclude on our experiences and some references that ultrasonography gives no specific signs of urgent renal infarction but is useful for its follow-ups and finding old renal infarctions.
