Ultrasonographic and histological findings of liver involvement in 2 cases with malignant lymphoma were described. Case 1 (57-year-old male) showed no space occupying lesion in the liver on ultrasonogram (US) and diffuse infiltration of the lymphoma cells in the autopsy liver. Case 2 (69-year-old male) showed mass finding in the liver on US and massive necrosis with diffuse infiltration in the autopsy liver.
Ultrasonographic examination is useful in staging of lymphoma, but the case without a massive necrosis in the liver may show false negative finding for liver involvement.
The characteristic appearance of the lymphoma lesion is a round shaped hypoechoic lesion.
