We present three cases of biliary ascariasis. Two patients experienced colicky pain in the epigastrium and another suffered several episodes of right upper quardrant pain for three years. Eosinophilia was detected in two patients, liver function tests disclosed an elevation of bilirubin, transaminase and alkaline phosphatase in one patient.
Ultrasonography showed characteristic images of biliary ascariasis as follow: two cases had two echogenic strips containing an anechoic inner line in biliary tract and another had single echogenic strip.
We considered that ultrasonography is useful for the diagnosis of the biliary ascariasis.
