A 62-year-old woman with meningitis and a hyperechoic liver abscess was reported. On admission, hyperechoic lesion was found with ultrasound in the right lobe of the liver. On the 7th hospital day, this lesion changed to a mixed pattern. On the same day, percutaneous drainage of the abscess was performed, and the patient, general condition improved dramatically thereafter. Ultrasonic diagnosis of liver abscess in it's early stage has not yet been established. When we examine the patients with infectious disease, the liver should be scanned carefully and if some lesions are found, they should be followed up by ultrasound because liver abscess is the most probable diagnosis.
