We report a case of congenital hepatic arteriovenous malformation (AVM) accompanying an anomaly of portal vein and multiple hemangioma in the liver. The AVM was initially detected as a cystic lesion by screening ultrasonography in a 52-year-old female. The lesion was examined by CT, MRI, two-dimensional color doppler echography and angiography. 2 D-color doppler echography clearly demonstrated the AVM with a mosaic-colored arteriovenous whirling pool with an afferent artery and an efferent vein, and was particularly useful in confirming AVM.
