We reported a case of a 33–year–old woman with focal nodular hyperplasia of the liver (FNH). Ultrasonography revealed a well–circumscribed isoechoic mass which contained multiple, small nodules and many linear high–echoes in the caudate lobe. Color Doppler sonography showed the following findings: 1) numerous color spots in the mass, suggestive of the hypervascular nature of the lesion; 2) arterial branches penetrating from the margin to the center of the mass; and 3) comparatively slow blood velocity in the arterial branches (Vmax=20 cm⁄s, Vmin=7 cm⁄s, Vmean=13.5 cm⁄s, P. I. =0.96). Precontrast CT scan showed a low–density mass with lower–density components. A dynamic CT scan obtained 8 sec after a bolus injection of the contrast material showed feeding arteries running from the periphery to the center of the mass. These findings corresponded closely to the characteristic histological findings of FNH.
