In two patients who had undergone amputation of the rectum for rectal cancer complained of difficult or frequent urination, transperineal ultrasonography successfully demonstrated local recurrence. We believe that transperineal ultrasonography is useful for detecting local recurrence in patients who have undergone rectal amputation for rectal cancer.
