キーワード : Fetal weight, Abdominal diameter, Ultrasonic measurement
The fetal abdominal diameter was measured ultrasonically in 151 pregnant women in their 3rd trimester. Fetal abdomens were measured at 3 different sections: the level of the umbilical vein; the bifurcation of the portal vein; and the maximum transverse section. The 3 measurements of the fetal abdominal sections showed no significant difference statistically and clinically. If the umbilical vein is too difficult to find, fetal weight can be estimated with comparable accuracy using the measurement of the fetal abdominal diameter at the maximum transverse section.
