Gastrointestinal, urogenital and genital screenings as well as superior abdominal ultrasonics screening were conducted in 13,471 patient (9,857 males, 3,614 females) from June 1989 to May 1991. Of these cases, 22 cancer and 199 benign diseases were exhibited. This method appears to be highly effective as a diagnostic technique. Advanced cancer of the kind that can be cured by resection was observed in the stomach and colon. While, an early stage of cancer without manifestation of microscopic hematuria was exhibited in the urinary bladder. 71 percent of the ovarian tumors were diagnosed successfully by preoperative examination of the oophoron. Transabdominal ultrasonics examination of the prostate is quite useful for the diagnosis of prostatic hypertrophy though it may not be effective for the diagnosis of the prostatic cancer. It seems more likely that ultrasonics examination is highly useful in identifying the case of hypogastric pain in the metra.
