Gauzeoma was found in the right subphrenic space of a 64-year-old woman on examination with ultrasound (US), computed tomography (CT), magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), and angiography, and the diagnosis of gauzeoma was confirmed on laparotomy. A mass with hyperechoic linear regions and a strong posterior shadow was found on US examination; contrast material-enhanced CT of the liver showed a highly attenuated lesion containing internal areas of high and low density; contrast material-enhanced MRI showed a well-circumscribed lesion comprising three different intensity layers; and T2-weighted MRI revealed an internal high- and low-intensity convoluted area. Findings from all of these modalities agreed with the CT findings. A hepatic artery angiogram showed proliferative vessels in the anterior branch of the right hepatic artery. These findings are characteristic in gauzeoma. Gauzeoma should be considered a differential diagnosis when these findings are observed in a patients with a history of abdominal surgery.
