Congenital anomalies of the kidney are rare. Here we report three such cases (one case of pelvic kidney and two cases of L-shaped kidney) that were found incidentally during sonographic examination. The radiologic findings of these patients are described, the differential diagnosis is discussed, and the usefulness of color Doppler sonography in the diagnosis is stressed. A brief review of the literature is included.
