Here we present ultrasonographic findings of a patient who had a parotid region mass and cervical lymph nodes, and who was pathologically confirmed to have Kimura's disease. Ultrasonographic features of this disease include (1) heterogeneous hypoechoic lesions with poorly defined, irregular margins in diffusely enlarged salivary glands in which normal parenchymal echo texture is preserved; (2) lesions extending from the periphery of the gland; and (3) color Doppler images showing numerous color signals, corresponding particularly to intense hypoechoic areas appearing in gray-scale mode images. A diagnosis of Kimura's disease can be based on characteristic ultrasonographic features and such unique clinical traits as eosinophilia and elevated plasma IgE.
