To know the present state in the world of ultrasound in ocular, orbital and intracranial region in detail, it is appropriate to introduce and summarize a number of works presented at the 2nd meeting of WFUMB, July 22-27, 1979 in Miyazaki.
The present concern and interest with ultrasound in ophthalmology is focused on development of new diagnostic techniques (including equipment and analytical methods), establishment of standardization of display and wider application of available equipment and techniques. For intracranial survey, particular attention is paid to the problem of intracranial circulation and evaluation as a screening test.
