We studied superior vena cave flow and right ventricular inflow in 13 patients with dilated cardiomyopathy accompanied by arterial fibrillation (DCM) , and 28 patients with lone atrial fibrillation (LAF) using pulsed Doppler and echocardiography. The ratio of systolic to diastolic peak velocity in superior vena cava flow (S/D), the deceleration half time of right ventricular inflow (DHT), the tricuspid annular systolic excursion (TASE), and the right ventricular diastolic dimension (RVDd) were measured.
